BABA SUWE: No drug in second excreta, NDLEA insists on due process

Ace actor and comedian, Omidina Babatunde popularly known as Baba Suwe on Saturday night excreted for the second time without drugs found on him.
Notwithstanding the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it will continue due investigative process on the matter and pleaded with the public to exercise patience.
In a statement by its Head of Public Affairs, Ofoyeku Mitchell, the agency urged stakeholders to make necessary sacrifices for the collective interests of the citizens and national security while the actor remains under observation.
Baba Suwe who was to board an Air France flight to Paris at about 10pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos allegedly tested positive to drug ingestion thus leading to his investigation.
NDLEA Airport commander, Alhaji Hamza Umar said that the actor is still being monitored in safe custody.
“It is important to follow the due process. Members of the public should be patient. There is reasonable ground for suspicion and it is crucial to allow the due process to run its course. He is fine and has gone for the first and second excretion but no drug had been found on him thus far. It is just the normal process for all passengers”.
Okoyeku said the agency’s doctor who re-examined the comedian is good health condition adding that he is cooperating with narcotic investigators.
